Following the devastating floods which have badly affected many parts of Cumbria, Langdale is doing its bit to help the victims through the Cumbria Flood Recovery Fund (charity no 1075120). Langdale will also be donating £3.00 per delegate for every conference booking made in December.
Although the buildings on the Langdale Estate have not been directly affected by the flooding many of the guests who were staying in the hotel, timeshare and self catering properties from Thursday 19th to Sunday 22nd November were stranded whilst others had their holidays ruined while the Estate was cut off.
The short term affect on the tourist trade in Cumbria has been dramatic with many cancellations and potential visitors staying away due the adverse publicity however according to Dan Visser, Director of Sales and Marketing at Langdale “all tourist businesses in Cumbria and especially those areas most affected by the flooding need the support of visitors and not for them to stay away”
