2010 has got off to a flying start at Elland Road, home of Leeds United Football Club with the promise of an exciting new development.
Plans have been announced to expand the current Conference and Events facilities; doubling the size of the Conference and Exhibition Centre, making it the largest facility in Leeds and one of the largest in the North of England, with a capacity to seat 1450 for dinner.
This self-contained suite will be a large open space with no pillars, a large state-of-the-art kitchen, two bars and will benefit from excellent ground floor access. This further enhances the superb offering made by Elland Road to the Events industry.
This comes at a time when the Leeds United Conference and Events Team reported a 28 per cent increase in sales of public Christmas party nights in 2009 from 2008.
Conference and Events Manager Helen Briden said: “This is a tremendous achievement by my team during such difficult economic times. This shows their passion and determination to succeed.
“It has been a difficult year but we prepared well and re focussed our proactive sales approach. This has allowed us to introduce over 150 new business accounts during the past twelve months and see the increase in our Christmas sales”.
Work commences on May 9 and the new facilities will be available late September.
